
In response to a recent White House move, Zarif says, “The deal signed as ‘Joint Plan for Action’ between Iran and the P5+1 countries contains a clear text and there is nothing to hide.” Iran’s foreign minister on Saturday has dismissed claims that the nuclear deal reached at Geneva talks with world powers has covert issues kept hidden from the media. “The deal signed as ‘Joint Plan for Action’ between Iran and the P5+1 countries contains a clear text and there is nothing to hide,” Javad Zarif said. On Thursday, the White House released a four-page summary of the detailed agreement after calls from the US Congress for more transparency. The Iranian foreign minister criticised the move, saying, “Some countries, unfortunately, chose to release something else instead of the original text, because of their own internal problems.” Zarif also reaffirmed Iran’s commitment to start implementing the deal as of Monday. On November 23, Iran agreed to curb some of its efforts in its controversial nuclear program, committing to stop enriching uranium beyond 5%, and “neutralise” its stockpile of uranium enriched beyond this point Tehran also pledged more transparency by granting greater access to inspectors at its nuclear sites. In return, there will be no new nuclear-related sanctions for six months if Iran sticks by the deal, according to the agreement
