Any attempts to revise the political framework deal on Iran’s nuclear program, reached in the Swiss city of Lausanne in April, would be followed by a failure of the negotiations, Sputnik News quoted Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif as saying on Friday.
“The biggest problem we have is the need to make a political decision. The solution to this issue was agreed in Lausanne. All parties must understand that we can reach an agreement only in the framework of these solutions. Any attempts to revise the agreement will lead to failure,” Zarif told Rossiya-24 television.
For years, Tehran and P5+1 countries have been trying to reach a deal guaranteeing the peaceful nature of Iran's nuclear program, but have not done so yet. The West accused Iran of trying to cover up its alleged nuclear weapon development.
Under the deal reached in Lausanne, Tehran pledged to cut back its uranium enrichment and decrease the number of centrifuges in the country, in exchange for gradual easing of international restrictive measures.
