Iranian leader criticizes U.S. support for Israel

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei criticized on Saturday what he called U.S. President Barack Obama's support for Israel, the English language satellite Press TV reported. Khamenei made the remarks during a conference aimed at offering support for the Palestinians which opened in Tehran on Saturday. "The U.S. president says that Israel's security is his red line, " said the Iranian leader, adding that Obama makes such remarks because he is in need of money and support from Israel's companies to secure his second term in office. Obama's red line would be crossed by the Muslim nations, Khamenei was quoted as saying. U.S. president has reiterated that for any peace deal between Israel and the Palestinians the security of Israel is a pre- condition and should be guaranteed in advance. Khamenei urged Muslim countries to end all their ties with Israel, said the Press TV. Ayatollah Khamenei rejected any plan and any "solution suggesting the existence of a Palestinian state alongside Israel", adding that any plan to resolve the Palestinian issue needs to be based on the principle of "All of Palestine for all Palestinians," according to the report. The two-state solution means yielding to the Israeli demand for the recognition a Zionist state in Palestinian territory, he was quoted as saying by semi-official Mehr news agency on Saturday.
