Arrogant powers are in the weakest possible position, the Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the IRGC Brigadier General Hossein Salami said on Saturday. Speaking to students of Imam Hossein University, he noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran, as a contemporary phenomenon is in a historical point. “Enemies’ scenario to accuse IRGC of a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador to Washington aimed to devert American public opinion from the country’s problems and proves the helplessness of the US administration in solving its internal problems,” the official added. Salami noted that the Islamic awakening inspired by the Islamic Revolution of Iran goes forward very fast and continues to overthrows the pro-western puppet regimes. The pillars of US imperialism are shaking and the ice of Washington's power is melting as a result of the ongoing awakening movements, he said. The US officials claimed last week that Islamic Republic of Iran had a plot to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the United States, Adel Al-Jubeir, with a bomb and subsequent bomb attacks on the Saudi and Zionist Regime embassies in Washington. Iranian officials dismissed the US allegations as a prefabricated scenario which is totally unfounded and worn-out approaches which are based on the old hostile policies of the American-Zionist plan to sow discord among Muslims.
