Iran's First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi in a message on Monday extended his condolences to the Zanzibar government on the capsizing of a ferry, which claimed the lives of a number of passengers. In his message to the president of Zanzibar's revolutionary government, the Iranian vice-president extended his heartfelt condolences to Ali Mohammad Shin, his government and nation. He also expressed sorrow over the incident, and wished patience for the bereaved families of the victims and recovery for those injured in the incident. Early on Saturday morning, the MV Spice Islander, a ferry carrying more than 800 people and provisions bound for the island of Pemba capsized, killing nearly 200 people. An unknown number of passengers have been lost with no trace.
