
In a show of respect for the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan,Christian families in the northern Iraqi city of Sulaymaniyah close their restaurants during day time when Muslims are not allowed to eat or drink until sunset. A Christian priest Pawlo Delolyo fasts with his Muslim neighbors. "I will fast during 30 days as a sign of good faith to strengthen the brotherhood ties among two religions", Delolyo told the Anadolu Agency reporter. Another priest Ayman Azez Hormiz from Sulaymaniyah's Mar Joseph Church echoes Delolyo's show of respect "for our Muslim brothers." Around 250 Christian families live in Sulaymaniyah.
