Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama al-Nujaifi underlined the need for the Muslim world to enhance unity, saying that unity and solidarity among Arab and Muslim states plays a crucial role in the attainment of common goals."We (Arab and Islamic states) should move within the framework of unity and avoid discord. Like Europeans who created the European Union, we should come together in a bid to stand against foreigners," Nujaifi said, addressing the 5th International Palestinian Intifada Conference here in Tehran on Saturday. "We want to have common political and social views. We have a common motivation that derives from Islam," he added. He further voiced Baghdad's support for intifada and uprisings in the region, and noted, "We believe in the power of the Islamic and Arab states and we should manage the opportunities in a correct manner." Elsewhere, Nujaifi called Palestine as the most important issue of the World of Islam, and noted that all Islamic states want to see the freedom of Palestine. The 5th International Conference in Support of the Palestinian Intifada started work in Tehran today with Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in attendance.
