The Secretary General of the Ministry of Peshmerga in the Kurdistan Regional Government Jabbar Yawar denied that Kurdistan region has any secret deal with any foreign country to buy weapons. The website of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan quoted him as saying "we cannot buy these weapons in any way, and cannot be supplied to Iraq, because the fact that the countries that share with us are Turkey, Iran and Syria and these countries do not allow the entry of any weapon from any kind, wondering; so how can we come with such weapons." "The rumors about this transaction are lies, that were fabricated for disturbing the atmosphere between the province and the center," Yawar said. Some media quoted a senior security source yesterday, that Iraqi authorities are trying to prevent a "secret arms deal" with one of foreign countries. The source added that "The weapons include anti-tank missiles and aircraft, and large quantities of heavy weapons."
