
Iraqi Defense Minister Khaled al Obeidi discussed on Sunday with UN Special Representative in Iraq Jan Kubiš the ministry's preparations for liberating the remaining areas controlled by Daesh fighters.
This came during a meeting held between al Obeidi and Kubiš in Baghdad.
During the gathering, the Iraqi defense minister pointed to the role played by the UN to back the Iraqi government' efforts to help the displaced people and stand up for the reconstruction of the liberated areas.
For his part, the UN official hailed the Iraqi forces' courage in the fight against terror, asserting that the UN is quite willing to provide all necessary support for Iraq, especially in the humanitarian field.
