
Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aati received on Tuesday a delegation from the German Development Bank (KFW) and the German Embassy in Cairo in order to discuss means of joint cooperation.
The two sides also discussed the projects backed by the KFW and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), and carried out by the Egyptian ministry, Abdel Aati said.
The meeting dealt with a number of projects, atop of which are the new Assiut barrage and its hydroelectric station, an integrated management irrigation development project on an area of 50,000 feddans, as well as the replacement and renovation of a number of irrigation stations and sewage plants, Abdel Aati said.
The meeting also tackled a number of future joint cooperation projects, he added.
