Four Israeli Air Force fighter jets flew over south Lebanon's air space, the Lebanese media reported on Wednesday. The report was not confirmed by the Israeli army or any other Israeli official. According to the Lebanese news agencies citing an official notification by the Lebanese army, four fighter jets penetrated Lebanon's air space near Naquora at 9:00 p.m. and left at 2:00 a.m. after performing several maneuvers. It is not the first time for the Israeli Air Force to cross over to the Lebanese airspace, another report from the Lebanese media claims such an event occurred on Saturday. However, the number of fighter jets and the period of time they spent in Lebanon raised some questions as to the incident. On Saturday, the Lebanese newspaper "Al Mustaqbal" reported that the Israeli Air Force was involved in an explosion in one of Hezbollah's arsenals in southern Lebanon. On Sunday's cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned cabinet members of the risk over chemical weapons from Syria reaching the hands of the militant Hezbollah group in Lebanon. On Tuesday, the Israeli Air Force commander, Maj.-Gen. Amir Eshel, warned over the threat of Syrian weapons pouring into Lebanon amid the escalating civil war in the country. "Nobody has any idea right now what is going to happen in Syria, " Eshel said, "this is happening in a place with huge weapons arsenal, some of which are not conventional." Last week, Iron Dome anti-missile batteries were deployed in northern Israel, near Haifa and Safed.
