Israeli forces arrested five people in overnight arrest raids, including a teenager in the city of Nablus, locals and Israel's army said. Israeli military vehicles raided Nablus overnight and detained Abed al-Rahman Jalal Suboh, 16, witnesses said, Ma'an reported. Israeli forces closed Beta junction South of the city and initiated random checks of identity cards, locals said. Soldiers also set up a temporary checkpoint and banned Palestinian vehicles from passing. An Israeli army spokesman said that five people were detained overnight, one in Nablus, and four in the Jenin area. In March, UNICEF published a report which described mistreatment of children in Israeli prisons as "widespread." The report said Israel was the only regime in the world where children were systematically tried in military courts and gave evidence of practices it said were "cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment or punishment".
