Israeli forces escalated action against the Palestinians on Tuesday, killing one suspected activist and carrying out raids and demolishing properties. According to reports broadcast by Palestinian media, Israeli forces equipped with bulldozers demolished Palestinians' houses in Salwan in the Jerusalem region. They also ravaged cultivated fields at the town, located south of Al-Aqsa mosque. The properties were brought to the ground at pretext they had been built without permit. In Jordan Valley in the West Bank, an identical operation was carried out targeting agricultural fields and cottages. Earlier, the Israeli troops advanced into Jenin camp opening fire and killing one Palestinian, local radio stations reported. Three others were wounded when the troops moved into the camp, at dawn, prompting residents to confront them. Witnesses said the Israelis opened fire at houses causing damage in the natives' properties. The demised Palestinian was identified as Majd Al-Shahlah. He received a deadly shot in the heart. The troops withdrew from the camp after clashing with the locals. Elsewhere, the occupation forces detained six Palestinians in Nablus and Hebron in the West Bank, the radios said, adding that they were arrested during raids on suspected houses. Meanwhile, a spokesman of the Israeli Army declared detention of a 20-year-old Palestinian, a resident of Nablus, two weeks ago, on suspicion the young man planned to blow up a cafe in Israel. "The young man may have been ordered to carry out the operation to undermine the negotiations between the Palestinians and Israelis," the spokesman added.
