Israeli-Palestinian peace meeting accused for normalisation

Palestinian activists tried to prevent a Palestinian-Israeli organization from holding a Peace conferense in Ramallah on Thursday. The protester accused the conference for normalization of the occupation.The conference, which was entiteld ”Ordinary People make Peace”, was organized by the NGO Minds of Peace and had obtained permission from the Palestinian Authority to hold the event in Ramallah. There were 15 Palestinians and 15 Israelis attending the meeting, the Israeli attendants included former members of the Israeli army and settlers.Protesters held signs reading ”Normalization is Treason” and ”Inside this Hall sits Israeli Officers who Killed our Children”.“We protested to send a message to the Palestinians meeting the Israelis inside the conference that they have no right to speak and negotiate on behalf of the Palestinian people, more importantly disregarding the rights of the Palestinian refugees in exile and diaspora,” said Diana Alzer, one of the protester, in an interview with Electronic Intifada.
