A group of extremist Israeli settlers stormed Al Aqsa Mosque from Maghreb Gate early Wednesday.
Backed by elements of the elite force of the Israeli police, the settlers made provocative tours of the mosque.
Dozens of settlers are gathering around the Western Wall to mark the anniversary of what they call the "Israeli Declaration of Independence".
The so-called Temple Mount organizations had urged settlers to gather around and storm the Al Aqsa Mosque on Wednesday and Thursday.
The settlers will stage marches while holding Israeli flags. A number of leaders of those organizations will try to hold Israeli flags inside Al Aqsa.
Those groups made it clear they intend to show a number of tales about Israeli soldiers inside the Al Aqsa Mosque.
Meanwhile, Israeli police arrested three Palestinian youth of the Arab Israeli community because they shouted "Allah Akbar" or "God is Great" as celebrations marking the Israeli Declaration of Independence kicked off Tuesday night.
About 1.7 million Arab Israelis are living inside Israel and hold Israeli passports. The total Israeli population is estimated to reach some 8.3 million.
