Israeli soldier tries to set himself on fire

An Israeli soldier tried to set himself on fire on Sunday at a military base in Tel Aviv, Israeli media reported. The soldier doused himself in flammable liquid but was stopped by an officer, an army official told the Hebrew-language Maariv newspaper. He had tried to attack his superior after a heated argument that began Sunday morning, the official added. The soldier was arrested and handed over to military police, who were unable to determine the cause of the attempted self-immolation, the Ynet news site reported.
