Israeli troops open fire at land Day march east Rafah

Israeli military troops opened fire on Saturday towards a march organized by Palestinian activists marking the "Land Day" in eastern Rafah city, southern Gaza. Eyewitnesses told (KUNA) that Israeli occupation troops opened fire and tear gas st the march, leaving a number of Palestinians suffocated as a result of the tear gas. The Land Day is an annual event of commemoration for Palestinians of the events of that date in 1976. In response to the Israeli government's announcement of a plan to expropriate thousands of dunams of land for security and settlement purposes, a general strike and marches were organized in Arab towns from the Galilee to the Negev.
