Israeli F16 war jets early Friday fired missiles at a training post belonging to the Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing al-Qassam Brigades, and no injuries were reported, paramedics and witnesses said. The witnesses said that at least one air-to-ground missile hit the empty training camp of Hamas militants, adding that the huge explosion of the missiles terrified residents of the al-Mughazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip. Paramedics and rescue workers, who rushed to the scene, said no injuries were reported, but some damages were caused to nearby constructions. Meanwhile, Israeli Radio reported that the Israeli airstrike on Hamas' military post was a retaliation to an earlier projectile attack on southern Israel carried out by unknown militants from the coastal enclave, ruled by Hamas. Friday's Israeli airstrike on the Gaza Strip is the second since Aug. 25. Around 26 Palestinians and three Israelis were killed and dozens of others wounded in weeklong mutual assaults last month.
