The spokesman for the Italian-based Catholic organization, Sant'Egidio, Mario Marazziti praised Iran's peaceful religious coexistence as a role model for the Middle East.Talking to IRNA in Berlin, Marazziti said Iran was a 'good example' for the peaceful coexistence of religions in the Mideast. He stressed Iran was a 'main actor' in a bid to promote peace in the Middle East. 'What the community of Sant' Egidio thinks of Shia and Iranian culture ... is that it is a decisive partner ... Iran is a great country, a great culture, it is a great religious experience,' said Marazziti. 'I think Iran is a great country and we will find a way to build more bridges,' he reiterated. Sant' Egidio has been playing a leading role in Europe in promoting religious dialogue with the Muslim world. It organizes major international conferences and seminars in an effort to highlight the need for deepening religious dialogue.
