Italian Foreign Minister Giulio Teresa said today the formation of new Libyan government represents a significant progress in the process of building a stable and democratic Libya, pointing out that he will visit Tripoli on Tuesday to confirm the Italian government’s support for the strengthening of Libyan institutions. The Italian Foreign Ministry said in statement in this regard that the comprehensive approach that led to the formation of the government by new Prime Minister Ali Zaidan, particularly the rapprochement between the various political powers in Libya, is an encouraging sign in terms of the task awaiting the new government.” The Italian Foreign ministry hoped that the new government, which was granted legitimacy by the people in the elections of last July, can give further impetus to work on completing the cycle of institutional, economic and security reform, in conformity with the aspirations of the Libyan people.
