Italian police arrest Tunisia museum attack suspect

Italian police say they have arrested a Moroccan man suspected of involvement in the March 18 attack on a Tunisian museum that left 22 people dead, according to Voice of America.

Police told reporters Wednesday that a 22-year-old suspect was arrested in the Italian town of Gaggiano, near Milan.

Anti-terrorism police made the arrest. More details are expected later Wednesday.

The Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility for the March 18 attack, in which gunmen opened fire on busloads of foreign tourists outside the museum in Tunis and also opened fire inside the building. A Tunisian policeman was killed, as well as 21 tourists.

Police gunned down two of the attackers at the scene and have made several arrests linked to the attack.

The attack spurred thousands of people to take to the streets of Tunis to protest extremist violence in the country.
