
Japan's Minister of Defense Tomomi Inada met today with Russian counterpart Sergei Shoigu to discuss initiating military relations between the two countries.The Japanese Minister of Defense stressed the importance of another meeting that will take place later today between the foreign and defense ministers of the two countries. She expressed her hope that the talks will be clear an honest, as it will have great repercussions for the security of the region.
For his part, Shoigu said that the two countries are facing security challenges that cannot be resolved unless they work together. He stressed that the resumption of dialogue and the exchange of visits of military delegation will be a start to reinitiate military ties.
