Japan, South Korea to hold security talks

Senior foreign and defense officials from Japan and South Korea plan to meet in Seoul next week to hold their first security dialogue in more than five years.
Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and his South Korean counterpart Yun Byung-se agreed to hold the meeting when they met last month.
The delegates will include the head of the Japanese Foreign Ministry's Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau, Junichi Ihara. The head of the South Korean Foreign Ministry's Northeast Asia division, Lee Sang-deok, will also attend.
Japanese officials plan to explain how they are working with the US to revise defense cooperation guidelines, according to Japan's (NHK WORLD) website.
Japanese delegates also hope to strengthen security cooperation by discussing how to deal with North Korea's nuclear and missile development.
