Japanese, Indonesian leaders to hold summit on ties

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and visiting Indonesian President Joko Widodo will hold a summit late Monday, aiming at enhancing bilateral security and economic ties.
The two leaders are expected to promote the bilateral "two plus two" meeting involving their foreign and defense ministers and they would also sign an accord on security cooperation, local reports cited government officials here as saying.
The visiting president plans to go to Nagoya by Shinkansen bullet train to visit Japanese automaker Toyota's headquarters. The Indonesian side is considering introducing high-speed train service to connect Jakarta and Surabaya.
The Indonesian leader, who arrived in Japan late Sunday, will stay here for four days and will also address a business forum in Tokyo and have a luncheon with Japanese business leaders, according to local reports.
