Jarallah: British-Kuwaiti Joint Steering Group to bolster ties

The action plan of the British-Kuwaiti Joint Steering Group (JSG) will yield some good results for the boosting of relations between the two nations, Kuwait's Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah said here late Thursday. Speaking to KUNA on the sidelines of the meeting which concluded late Friday, Al-Jarallah said that the JSG had set the action for the upcoming sixth months, noting that the group's next meeting in Kuwait would help develop bilateral relations. He indicated that the plan was signed by himself and British Minister of State at Foreign and Commonwealth Office for Middle East and North Africa Alan Duncan. The JSG, which was founded after His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's visit to the UK, aims at discussing means to bolster relations and find ways to overcome obstacles, said Al-Jarallah. Representatives of several governmental institutes were present at the JSG, said Al-Jarallah who indicated that several agreements were inked during the meeting. He said that issues connected to the UK visa for Kuwait's nationals and improving the situation of Kuwaiti students in the Kuwaiti were brought to the table by the Kuwaiti side.
