Jerusalem youth and civil society launched a fundraising campaign Wednesday in a show of solidarity with Egyptians and the democratic transformations taking place in Egypt after 30 June, state-run news agency MENA reported. The campaign is spearheaded by The Islamic Christian Commission in Support of Jerusalem & Holy Sites, an interreligious non-profit organisations in Jerusalem. The donations raised will be financial in nature. The youth are backed by civil society members and businessmen, who will funnel the donations to an account specified for Egypt. The age range of the youth is between 18 to early 20s. A week ago, Egypt's former President Mohamed Morsi was removed by Egypt's military following mass demonstrations on 30 June.
