Hundreds of Jewish settlers, provided by Israeli army security cover, broke into Joseph’s Tomb early Tuesday, inside the Palestinian Authority-controlled city of Nablus in the north of the West Bank. Palestinian security sources said forces stormed the city at dawn, closed the eastern area of it for several hours to allow the settlers to perform their religious rituals at the tomb, Palestinians were prohibited from leaving home until the settlers leave the area. Meanwhile, Israeli forces raided a neighborhood in the city of Nablus and the vicinity of Balata refugee camp, where confrontations erupted between residents and soldiers who fired tear gas heavily at them. Settlers storm the shrine on weekly basis since 2000 after the withdrawal of the occupation forces following bloody clashes with Palestinian activists.
