Thousands of Ultra-Orthodox Haredem Jews protested new resolution on military service, which the Israeli government is planning to put into practice. Jews dressed in black and wearing melon hats gathered in front of the recruitment office in Jarusalem to protest the government. During the protest of about 15 thousand Jews, Rabbi Shmuel Auerbach, leader of the Ultra-Orthodox Eda Haredem Jews Organization, said, "We will not take a step back against the resolution on military service. We have formed a solid wall and we will never allow anyone to cross over." Haredem Jews have been living in Israeli since the foundation of the country in 1948 without having to fulfil military service despite benefitting from tax reductions as well as many aid. Practising only their religious services, Haredem Jews ought to fulfil their military service under the new resolution. The second biggest partner of the Israeli coalition government, Yash Atid, argues that the military service should be fulfilled by everybody in the country equally, which is supported by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
