Jordan and Belgium on Monday called for a political solution to end the Syrian crisis and stop bloodshed in the country, the state-run Petra news agency reported. During a meeting between Belgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Didier Reynders and Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh, the two sides urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities in assisting countries affected by the influx of Syrian refugees. The Jordanian minister, who said the country is hosting more than 400,000 Syrian refugees, called for more aid to help the country continue to accommodate the Syrians. Reynders, for his part, commended Jordan's role in assisting the Syrian refugees in spite of the economic challenges the country is facing. The two foreign minister also discussed the latest developments related to the peace process, urging the Palestinians and Israel to resume peace talks.
