Minister of State for Media Affairs and Communication Samih Maaytah on Tuesday denounced attempts by different Israeli groups to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque and desecrate holy places. Maaytah, who is also government spokesperson, added that such practices are a hostile message against the rights of the Arab and Muslim nations and the Palestinian people. He stressed that such moves are unacceptable and a violation of international charters, laws and treaties, values of tolerance and monotheistic religions. The minister affirmed that these acts are an evidence that the thought of extremism and terrorism is widening, particularly in light of the multiplicity of groups that are trying to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque and all Islamic and Christian sanctities. Maaytah said Jordan is working according to its capabilities to protect and defend holy sites and that Jerusalem will always remain a priority to the Kingdom.
