Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh has said that his country condemns targetting of Saudi national figures or any person representing the kingdom, stressing that the security of Saudi Arabia is a red line which cannot be crossed. Judeh said in a press statement late last night that those behind the assassination attempt against the Saudi ambassador in Washington must be brought to justice in order to receive the proper punishment for the "heinous" act. He expressed his country's full solidarity with Saudi Arabia. The U.S. authorities had unveiled a plot to assassinate the Saudi ambassador in Washington Adel Al-Jebeir at a restaurant in the American capital, as well as targetting the Saudi Embassy in Argentina.
