Jordan FM, UN official discuss cooperation, regional developments

Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and United Nations (UN) Special Representative for Iraq Nikolay Mladenov Thursday discussed cooperation between the Kingdom and the UN as well as latest developments in the region.
Talks between the two officials also touched on the latest developments in Iraq and international efforts to support the country in its war against terrorism and terror groups, Petra News Agency reported.
Judeh reiterated Jordan's full support to preserving the security and unity of Iraq and called for a political solution through dialogue.
The two officials reviewed the international efforts to fight terrorism and extremism that threaten the region and the whole world.
The UN official praised Jordan's pivotal role under the leadership of King Abdullah II to bring about peace and stability in the region.
He also voiced his keenness to continue coordination and consultations with Jordan on various issues.
