Jordan, France FMs urge international support to resume Middle East peace talks

Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh and his French counterpart Laurent Fabius on Sunday called for an international support for resuming the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks.

They asserted that the Palestinian cause is an international issue as it requires a special international attention within the framework of the regional and international challenges and circumstances.

In a joint press conference, the two top diplomats voiced concerns over the future of the two-state solution with the stalemate of the negotiations.

For his part, Fabius said that France seeks to reach a solution to the Palestinian cause with the bodies concerned to avoid getting into a spiral of violence, especially in light of the difficult situation in the region, noting that Jordan contributes bravely to restore stability in the region.

France and Jordan stressed the importance of the joint action in creating an atmosphere that ensures the Palestinians' rights and Israel's security, according to the French Foreign Minister.
