Prime Minister Abdullah Ensour on Thursday received Commissioner-General of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency UNRWA, Filippo Grandi, in the presence of Minister of Social Development Wajih Azaizeh and Director of UNRWA Operations in Jordan Marta Colburn. Ensour expressed Jordan's appreciation of UNRWA's role to the aid the refugees, affirming the importance of supporting Jordan and the international organizations interested in refugee affairs. He also listened to a briefing by Grandi on UNRWA's services extended to the Palestinian refugees in Jordan and the region in the educational, health, and social services fields. Grandi commended Jordan's historical role in supporting the Palestinian refugees and helping the agency perform its duties. He also outlined the financial situation of the agency, affirming the importance of Jordan's political and diplomatic efforts with donor countries to make their contributions to enable the organization to provide its services efficiently.
