Jordan, UN probe latest Iraqi developments

Jordan and the United Nations (UN) discussed on Monday the efforts exerted at all levels to fight terrorism that faced the region especially Iraq.

This came during a meeting held between Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh with the UN Special Envoy for Iraq Yan Kubish who is currently visiting Amman.

The get-together took up the latest Iraqi developments and the importance of uniting efforts to maintain stability and security as well as returning the displaced.

For his part, Judeh underscored the importance of the role played by the UN mission in Iraq, noting that his country is keen on resuming cooperation with the UN.

Kubish said that the UN hails Jordan's role, under King Abdullah II, in achieving peace and security in the region.
