Jordan's Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Tuesday reiterated Jordan's call for speeding up efforts to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis, the state-run Petra news agency reported. At a meeting with Muslim British MPs, Judeh underlined the need for a solution that preserves the security and unity of Syria with the participation of all segments of the society. He also reviewed difficulties Jordan is facing in light of hosting more than 540,000 Syrian refugees. The minister also urged the international community to increase aid to Jordan so that the kingdom could continue providing services to Syrian refugees. Discussions also covered the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, where Judeh reviewed Jordan's efforts to jumpstart peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis on the basis of the two- state solution.
