
Jordan and US discussed Monday preparations for carrying out the "Eager Lion" military exercises which will kick off on Tuesday with the participation of 18 Arab and foreign countries.
This remark came during the meeting held between Jordanian Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mashal Mohammad al Zabin with the Director of Exercises and Training in US Central Command Major General Rick Mattson.
The training aims at upgrading the skills of the officers to face various challenges and combat terrorism, according to a statement issued by the General Command of the Jordanian Armed Forces.
The exercise, which will take place in the period between 15 till 19 May, targets also enhancing cooperation between the countries participating in the event and raise their capabilities to administrate crises.
The countries that will take part in the event include Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, UAE, Lebanon, Britain, France, Italy, Pakistan, US, Canada and Australia.
