Jordanian youth groups said on Thursday they plan to increase their pro-reform demonstrations in Amman and other cities during the holy month of Ramadan and for the Eid al-Fitr festival. "The Youth and Popular Reform Movements have decided to raise their field action and fill Amman and other governorates with the spirit of reform and freedom," the groups said on their Facebook page. "The regime only cares about stalling for time. Jordanians want to reform the regime and stabilise democracy, civil rights and citizenship." They said demonstrations and sit-ins will be held several days a week after night prayers during Ramadan. "We seek to gather 100,000 citizens for Eid al-Fitr prayers to stress our peaceful demands for reform." Eid al-Fitr is the holiday that comes at the end of Ramadan. Since January, Jordan has faced a protest movement demanding political and economic reforms and an end to corruption.
