Minister of Finance Umayya Toukan met the US Ambassador to Jordan Stuart Jones and discussed preparations to benefit from the US guarantees to Jordanian eurobonds, to be issued by the Ministry of Finance. Toukan and the ambassador also discussed preparations to transfer the additional assistance of $200 million to Jordan, announced during the recent visit of the US President Barack Obama to Jordan, as the burden of hosting hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees is growing heavier on the Kingdom’s budget. The minister thanked the US for its continued support to Jordan, noting the US annual assistance to the kingdom, totaling $180 million. The minister also received the Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Junichi Kosuge. Touqan thanked Japan over its continued support to Jordan.
