Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh on Wednesday discussed with visiting United Nations High Commissioner for Refugee Antonio Guterres, developments in Syrian and their humanitarian impact on neighboring regions, mainly Jordan.Talks also covered the increasing influx of Syrian refugees to Jordan and pressure they place on the Kingdom’s energy and water sectors.The two officials called for supporting Jordan to enable it to continue its humanitarian duty towards the displaced Syrians.Judeh highlighted the need to continue cooperation and coordination with UN agencies that provide services to the refugees.For his part, the UN official expressed appreciation of Jordan’s efforts to host Syrian refugees and provide them with needed services.Earlier Tuesday, Antonio Guterres urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities towards the escalating humanitarian crisis facing the Syrian people in Syria and in refugee camps in host countries.In a press conference he held in Amman earlier yesterday , Guterres highlighted the need to find relevant solution to the humanitarian crisis facing the Syrian people and a political solution to end violence and bloodshed in the country.He valued Jordan’s efforts to host Syrian refugees and provide them with services despite pressure they place on the Kingdom’s resources.The UN official urged the international community to shoulder its responsibilities and assist Jordan and other countries hosting Syrian refugees, noting that the Syrian crisis poses a major threat to resources of host countries of the refugees
