Minister of Agriculture Akef Zu’bi and his Palestinian counterpart Walid Assaf signed in Amman on Thursday the minutes of the Joint Jordanian-Palestinian Higher Committee meeting. The two ministers stressed the need to activate memorandums of understanding as well as minutes of the meetings of technical committees and adopt them as working plans. Zu’bi said the Agriculture Ministry will continue supporting the Palestinian Agriculture Ministry and will strive to further boost trade and agricultural cooperation between the two sides. He also highlighted the need for cooperation and coordination to overcome any obstacles facing the flow of goods. The Palestinian minister extended an invitation to Zu’b to attend a festival scheduled to be held in the West bank city of Qalqiliah next month. He also urged his counterpart use the occasion to look into the Palestinian agricultural sector and the problems it faces due to Israeli restrictions.
