The Foreign Minister, Ali Karti, Sunday received the visiting delegation of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union at the level of representatives at the outset of the delegation's visit to Sudan. In a press statement, Karti said that the delegation's visit in an important timing for Sudan when the Peace and Security Council is following up the situation in Sudan, referring to the great role being played by the council for enhancing the situation in Darfur. He said that the delegation is visiting Sudan in a time when Darfur issue is at its end and preparations are about to be finalized for convening the Donors Conference for Development and Rehabilitation at Doha in next April. He said that the delegation of the Peace and Security Council is also visiting Sudan in a time witnessing several developments on the ground in Darfur, including the voluntary return of the displaced persons to their home areas and the start of implementing development and services' projects in Darfur as part of the implementation of the Doha Document for Peace in Darfur. Meanwhile, head of the delegation of the African Union's Peace and Security Council said that several developments and achievements took place since the recent visit of the council's delegation to Sudan, adding that the visit will enable them to be aware about the real situation on the ground. He said that the delegation is holding messages for peace, support to the circles concerned with peace and calls on the armed movements in Darfur to sit for dialogue and to join the peace agreement.
