Karzai appeals Taliban to lay down arms

Afghan President Hamid Karzai appealed to Taliban fighters to put down their weapons. Karzai, demanding Taliban to be in the political process, called on the Islamist group not to target the innocent civilians. He also said the Taliban could have opened office in Afghanistan like other political parties instead of an office in Doha, capital of Qatar. Karzai's message was assumed as an answer for Head of Taliban Molla Omer who described the presidency elections to be held next year as "waste of time".
