Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta said the country remains “unbowed and undeterred” in the fight against al-Shabab militants in Somalia.
He asserted that Kenyans must stand with the families of the soldiers killed in a base in the southern Somali town of al-Adde on Friday, the BBC reported.
We are determined and committed to pursuing those criminals who perpetrated this act and to ensure that they shall pay heavily for their crime, he added.
The president said Kenya’s soldiers “did not die in vain”.
Every Kenyan must understand that this war demands our unity as a nation and we must stand shoulder to shoulder, the president concluded.
