Kerry in Paris for talks on Iran, Daesh

US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Paris Saturday to begin two rounds of talks on Iran and on the fight against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), the Foreign Ministry indicated.
Kerry is holding a first round of talks with French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius and then will hold broader talks, joined by the Foreign Ministers of Britain and Germany and the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Federica Mogherini.
Kerry is expected to try to get convergence on positions on the nuclear talks with Iran and elaborate a common stance with a view to getting an accord between the P5+1 and Iran by March 31.
Fabius has expressed some reservations about the current proposals on the table and has said more work needs to be done.
In earlier EU talks in Latvia, the French Foreign Minister noted that there has been "some progress" in talks with Iran but "the situation is still not sufficient, so there is more work to be done" concerning "the numbers, controls and the length of the agreement." On the ISIL, the Foreign Ministers have almost identical positions on the need to curtail and stop the radical movement.
