Lebanese Strategic Researcher Sami Kleib stressed that the Western project which aims at directing a blow against Syria and weakening its key role was blocked by the power and steadfastness of the Syrian diplomacy, limited demonstrations and the lack of the significant role of the opposition in Syria, therefore, it escalated its pressures through imposing sanctions on Syria, weakening its economy and sowing sedition inside it. In an interview with the Syrian TV on Saturday, Kleib pointed out that Syria has exposed to lots of pressures and threats in the previous period, but its steadfastness forced the powers of the Western project to try to divide it from inside. He said "the solution in Syria is not a military one and the Syrian leadership knows that … it knows that reform and dialogue with the national parties are the way for finding solution," asserting that the consultative meeting was a very important start and the opposition should be engaged in dialogue. The Researcher added that there is a media project against a number of Arab countries, particularly Syria works on fabricating the events and falsifying the facts to fuel sedition and instigate killing to serve a certain political project to be imposed on countries of the resistance project for weakening them. Kleib called for maintaining Syria's role as a central state in the Arab world because weakening Syria's role serves Israel, asserting that the Syrian people will get out of the crisis stronger. He pointed out that the US is the only beneficiary of what is happening in the region, indicating that the NATO destroyed the infrastructure in Libya except the oil sector on which the conflict started since the beginning of the NATO's moves under the pretext of protecting the civilians.
