Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaci has said that talks aimed at normalizing ties between Belgrade and Pristina reached final stages.He noted that his talks earlier Thursday with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton who paid a surprise visit to is due to Pristina, dealt with the thorny aspects of the agreement and the coming round of the EU-mediated talks .”Any progress in the negotiations could potentially open the door to EU accession talks with Serbia”, he said in a statement he made here Friday prior to his departure to Norway.While here , Ashton met Kosovo’s leaders for discussions likely to focus on EU-mediated talks aimed at normalizing ties between Belgrade and Pristina.Ashton will give her opinion on whether the EU should launch such talks when she meets with the EU Council of Ministers on April 16.Meanwhile, the prime ministers of Kosovo and Serbia are due to meet on March 20 in Brussels.
