Kosovo PM Hashim Thaci said that the international intervention in Syria was necessary. "The war in Syria in which thousands of people lost their lives in just the last few days, among them hundreds of children, points to the need for international intervention in the country.” A statement also said that although the issues of Kosovo and Syria were different, humanitarian intervention would be the only humane solution that supports democracy in the world. "The intervention which would stop the attacks of Assad’s regime against its own people is essential in order to support the Syrian people in their efforts for freedom, democratic governance, the rule of law and human rights" said Hashim Thaci.
