
The Russian president’s special representative for the Middle East and Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov met with Egyptian Ambassador in Moscow Mahmoud Eldeeb on Thursday, July 25, to discuss the situation in Egypt and bilateral relations. The diplomats exchanged opinions on regional issues with a focus on the situation in Egypt, including the implementation of the roadmap for political process in that country aimed at ensuring internal stability and laying the groundwork for the operation of civil government bodies, the Foreign Ministry said. Bogdanov and Eldeeb also discussed practical aspects of Russian-Egyptian cooperation. At their previous meeting in early July, Bogdanov reiterated Russia’s commitment to preserving and strengthening friendship and equal cooperation with Egypt. The diplomats exchanged views on the latest developments in Egypt. Bogdanov reaffirmed Russia’s commitment to preserving and strengthening friendship and equal cooperation between Russia and Egypt and helping Egyptian people in carrying out democratic reforms and economic development plans, the Foreign Ministry said.
