Achieving armistice in Syria requires finalizing lists of opposition and terrorist organizations, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, adding that such work was in progress.
"As you may know, the theme of armistice, let us put it this way, of terminating some active operations (but not against terrorist organizations) has long been on the agenda, but for this all lists of terrorist organizations and moderate opposition organizations are to be finalized," he said according to TASS News Agency.
Peskov said that the tasks had been identified and there was an "agreed framework" for such activities. Nevertheless, "as long as certain problems remain two lists should be finalized."
"This is what the current work is aimed at. The process will be not easy at all. Nobody had expected it would be easy," Peskov said, adding that the negotiating process about to begin in Geneva "is a very sensitive matter," so "making any judgements and hasty conclusions would be wrong."
